Almost every one of us had that one classmate back in school that preferred the images and the illustrations in the textbooks to the text itself. Mainly because they, could easily understand the main idea in this manner, perhaps even without realizing it. And there were some others that may not take notes in class but would pay rapt attention while the teacher explained because it was all they needed.

This is because humans are different, so it is no surprise that when it comes to learning, different methods work best for different people and although some people have the ability to comprehend easily using different methods, others do not.

Traditional schooling however used (and continues to use) mainly linguistic and logical teaching methods. This comprises mainly of classroom and book-based teaching, much repetition, and pressured exams for reinforcement and review. A result is that those who use these learning styles and techniques are labelled as bright. While those who use less favored learning styles (such as Visual and spatial understanding, Aural auditory-musical learning, Physical kin esthetic and Social interpersonal learning method) often find themselves in lower classes, with various not-so-complimentary labels and sometimes lower quality teaching. The 21st century digital classroom on the other hand should be designed and equipped in a way that these individuals that learn differently are not left out. The use of such technology media is what transforms an ordinary team into a smart digital classroom; hence DigiSmart. When a child simply hears the lesson in the voice of his/her teacher, he/she will never be able to visualize and learn as effectively as when he/she does when shown visual clips with interesting voice-overs. Whereas, the effectiveness of live experiments cannot be compared to better than reading about them.

The 4th Goal of the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) states that "Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all". Quality here means that the education of this period must be of a global standard or one where students would be able to compete anywhere in the world.
